Story
The story
Jenna has spent years working part-time jobs to cover her sister Joan Parker's kidney treatment, while her parents praise her boss for avoiding health insurance and tell her to buy supplements for Joan instead. When a doctor finds early-stage brain cancer in her scan, Jenna has no money for surgery and no insurance, so she secretly enters a design contest, hoping the prize will pay for her treatment.
Her mother gives the design to Jenna's boss behind her back, and when Jenna wins first prize, her mother dismisses the cancer report and tells her to keep paying Joan's medical bills. Even after the doctor warns that time is running out, her family refuses to help, and a second checkup brings a result the doctor says she must prepare for.
A young woman fights for her own life while her family saves everything for her sister.

When I was in the early stages of brain cancer, my parents begged me to give my sister one of my kidneys.
They also told me to give them the money I had saved for my treatment.
When my sister left the hospital, it was her birthday. My parents threw her a party while I lay in a hospital bed trying to get better.
Later, when my mom found out I had late-stage brain cancer, she begged my sister to give me a kidney.
My sister said no. So, on the day of my funeral, my mom buried both of her kidneys with me.
