Dead Wife Walking

At Julian Thorne's birthday party, Caleb Hunt, the scholarship student Julian has sponsored for years, storms in waving a pregnancy test and demands that Julian divorce Ava Rhodes, claiming she is carrying his child. The guests gasp, because Ava Rhodes, Julian's ex-wife, died three years ago in an avalanche while skiing abroad.

Caleb, once a scrawny boy in scavenged clothes, now wears an Italian suit and diamond watch, insisting Ava will buy him a mansion and move his family in. He accuses Julian of using Ava's money to pose as a benefactor and of keeping Sophia, Julian's girlfriend, as a mistress, threatening to expose the affair unless Julian divorces Ava.

Julian takes Caleb to a cemetery and shows him Ava's grave, but Caleb refuses to believe it, calling the tombstone a fake. Julian suspects Caleb is being scammed by someone using Ava's name.
