Story

The story

Daniel collapses in anaphylactic shock from a peanut allergy, but his wife Hannah hands his EpiPen to their neighbor Mason for his poodle's swollen paw. She steps over Daniel, calling him a faker, while Mason smirks and injects the medicine into his dog. A cleaning lady calls 911, and Daniel spends three days in the ICU alone; Hannah never visits.

On his discharge day, Hannah throws a gratitude party where Mason is the guest of honor. Daniel pours wine onto the carpet and demands a divorce, but the room erupts in laughter. He spots his own Patek Philippe on Mason's wrist, and Hannah claims she lent it for networking. His parents storm in, his mother flings the papers back at him, and his father slaps him for shaming the family.

As neighbors side with Hannah and even a dog outranks him, Daniel's last thread of hope snaps.

I was in anaphylactic shock from a severe peanut allergy.

But my wife snatched my EpiPen, claiming our neighbor's dog had a mosquito bite and needed to reduce swelling.

"Hannah, the EpiPen..." I gasped, my voice a strangled plea for help, every fiber of my being fighting for air.

Hannah grabbed it, yelling towards the door. "Mason! Snowball's paw is swollen from a bite. This import works fast. Here, take it!"

She handed it to our neighbor, Mason, like offering a prize.
