Marlon wakes from a fatal car crash with a second chance. In his past life he shielded his wife and child, only to learn on his deathbed that the boy was never his and that his wife Sophie and his friend Thomas had planned it all.

Now he is back, helping his son Byron with homework while the boy curses him and screams that he wants Thomas as his father. When Marlon smashes the game console Thomas gave the boy, Sophie returns and takes Byron's side, praising Thomas and belittling Marlon. He walks out, spends the night in a hotel, and resolves to divorce her, but first he must gather proof of her affair.

He buys a hidden camera and returns home to find the mess untouched and no breakfast waiting for him. Sophie orders him to clean, and Byron only glares. Marlon packs a suitcase to leave, and Sophie demands to know what he thinks he is doing.
