A Home After All

A little girl named Lily was adopted into a warm home, and for five years she believed she had finally found a family. Then her parents had a baby boy of their own, and though they told her she was their lucky star, the arrival of their real child slowly changed everything.

When her brother breaks her favorite doll and she pushes him, her father slams her against the wall and threatens to send her back to the group home, while her mother says nothing. Convinced that adopted children are only loved until a real baby arrives, Lily packs her small suitcase and slips out into the night to find the children's home on her own.

At a crosswalk, a car strikes her, and she watches her own still body covered by a white sheet. As a ghost, she drifts into her father's car and finds her family laughing over an amusement park trip, fine without her.
