The story

When her friend Emma sees the cyborg in a pink apron, she insists no factory model could be this realistic. Olivia has not entered a single command, and the agreement warned of an emotional reflection system that should be destroyed if it registers abnormal pain. The cyborg clings to her, begging to stay, while Olivia cannot tell whether she is tormenting a toy or a man.

Back home, Lucas's cyborg knelt obediently at my feet to change my shoes.
I raised my hand and slapped him across the face.
He immediately offered his other cheek, his puppy-like eyes reflecting the ceiling light.
"Do you want symmetry, Mistress?" he asked, nuzzling my calf affectionately.
His wet, red tongue circled my palm.
