The Day Mom Burned My Future

At a family dinner, Frank's mother Shannon, a compulsive gambler, flies into a rage and vows to burn his university admission letter. His father Jason refuses to intervene, handing her the lighter and soaking the envelope in liquor himself, while Aunt Tiffany is the only relative who fights to stop them. Frank has lived this night before: in his past life the letter burned, and worse followed.

This time he has quietly hidden the real admission letter and filled the envelope with a loan document his mother was told to safeguard, worth over 1.7 million dollars to the ruthless Mr. Abel Jarrell. As his parents move to destroy it, Frank stays silent, knowing what the flames will cost them.

A story of a son who has already survived one version of this family, and who now lets his parents' cruelty burn itself out.
