Until the 99th Sunset

Three years ago, Arthur lost every memory of his wife, Eleanor Jones, and woke believing he still loved his ex-wife, Laura Miller. Doctors held out hope that his memory might return, so Eleanor stayed. They divorced and remarried again and again, until the whole social circle was placing bets on when she would finally give up.

When their eighth divorce makes the headlines, reporters swarm Eleanor's law office and her boss fires her. She returns home to find Arthur and Laura together, her belongings thrown out with the trash, and Arthur coldly telling her she means nothing to him. His mother begs her to stay, insisting treatment could bring him back, but Arthur remembers nothing of her.

Eleanor finally tells him he is free, and walks away from the treatment and the man she once knew.
