My Final Wish Is to Walk Away from You

Nina Williams has spent five years as Mrs. Spencer, enduring her husband Xavier's coldness and his public affair with Lily Parker. The day she is diagnosed with late-stage cancer, intimate photos of Xavier and Lily go viral again, and he orders her to handle the scandal herself, threatening the Williams family if she speaks against Lily. This time Nina does not argue. She tears up the speech prepared for her and announces a divorce at a press conference.

Xavier is furious, refusing to sign and vowing she will stay trapped in the marriage until he tires of her. The video of her announcement is erased, but Nina no longer needs his signature. Carrying her parents' urns and her diagnosis, she visits Grandpa Charles Spencer, who at last agrees to help her, grieving for the child he watched grow up.

As she buries her parents and packs her belongings, she remembers how Xavier once loved her after she cared for him following the theater collapse, and how he turned on her when he learned Lily was the one who truly saved him. Before she dies, she wants only a few peaceful days—and her freedom.
