The Price of a Hidden Ring

After five years washing dishes overseas to clear her husband Ethan's debts, a wife returns home with their daughter Mia, hoping to surprise him. Instead she finds their old apartment padlocked and dusty, and a neighbor asking why she and Ethan ever broke up. At his company she is told the CEO is away hosting his baby's one-month celebration.

A news alert announces Ethan Sterling's lavish party for his heir, while his own message to her brags about cheap secondhand baby clothes. In the background a woman laughs that their bet is over and asks how long he will keep using a fake marriage certificate to trick her. His best friend calls her a mistress who cannot see the light of day, then flees in panic.

Tracking Ethan to the city's most luxurious country club, she watches him dote on another baby, then sees Mia's red braided bracelet swatted away as a scam. Chloe Hayes, her half-sister, arrives on his arm and calls her the other woman, producing a real marriage certificate to prove it.
