Story

The story

Emma has spent five years as the devoted partner of Daniel Hudson, keeping their marriage secret while he builds his career. When she discovers she is pregnant, she rushes to his office to name their baby as his insurance beneficiary, only to find his file listing a wife, Victoria Winston, and two children, Jack and Sophia, already seven years old. The HR manager explains that Victoria is his legally wedded wife and heiress to the largest hotel chain on the East Coast.

Reeling, Emma overhears Daniel and his mother, Gloria, discussing how to bring his real family home without her knowledge. He calls her an outsider and a free housekeeper, and she realises he has secretly dosed her with contraceptives for years. Yet she is pregnant with the child he will never acknowledge.

Rather than crumble, Emma resolves to keep the baby as her own and make Daniel pay for his betrayal, using the inheritance her late father left her. The Hudsons' fortune and bloodline may not be as secure as they believe.
