Story

The story

Wendy paid a top student, Matthias Jackson, to tutor her, but he insisted on bringing his childhood friend Evelyn Lowell to every session. Wendy refused, and Evelyn ran out crying, was hit by a car, and was left permanently disabled. Matthias blamed Wendy, yet still tutored her, married her, and had a child with her — until he heard Evelyn was being abused by her husband and tortured Wendy to death while she was heavily pregnant, saying she owed Evelyn.

Wendy wakes back in her high school uniform, on the very day Matthias first brought Evelyn to her house. She remembers everything: the pain, the betrayal, and the truth she overheard in the bathroom — that Evelyn only used Matthias as a free tutor.

This time, Wendy pays Matthias his fee and tells him not to come anymore, leaving him staring at her in disbelief.

Opening excerpt

However, he insisted on bringing his childhood friend along to every session.

I turned him down politely, and he did not push it any further.

Still, on the day his childhood friend left my house, she was hit by a car. After that, she dropped out of school and got married.

Life went on.

He kept tutoring me. We both got into the same university, grew close, fell in love, got married, and had a child.

Everything seemed perfect.

Until one night, during a business dinner, he heard that his childhood friend was being abused by her husband.

That was when everything fell apart.
