Six Years of Winter

On New Year's Eve, Maya decides to leave Seattle and the man she crossed the country to marry. For six years, Liam bore every hardship alone, building a home for them with his own frostbitten hands. But when a call from the police reveals him brawling for a young woman named Olivia, the night she meant to propose unravels into an explosive argument.

Liam promises to transfer Olivia and cut contact, yet Maya later finds a hidden account where he and Olivia share photos and blessings, and a message in which he tells her to pretend she never saw the ring. When Maya asks only for the dumplings back, Liam smashes his phone, throws cash and his credit card at her face, and tells her to reflect on her jealousy.

Packing her few belongings, Maya finds her old train ticket to Seattle and buys one back to New York, while Olivia posts a photo of a happy New Year's Eve feast. Liam catches her before she boards and tears up the ticket, but the car still smells of Olivia's perfume.
