Story

The story

Aria Scott wakes before dawn to frantic knocking. Dr. Miller, from a small clinic on the corner, shoves a newborn into her arms and accuses her of abandoning her child. Neighbors gather to watch. Aria refuses him, and when her parents push through the crowd to beg her to keep the baby, she turns them down cold. Then the doctor admits the child is her sister Chloe's, and produces Chloe's phone and a handwritten note as proof.

In a previous life, Aria raised that child alone, only for Chloe to return years later with a rich man, claim the boy as her own, and turn everyone against her. Cursed by her parents and shunned by the neighbors, Aria jumped from a rooftop. Now she has woken on the day her sister gave birth, and she intends to settle every debt.

When the police arrive, Aria questions whether Chloe ever left the clinic alive, and the officers take Dr. Miller away to investigate. Aria packs her bags, determined never to stay in this house again.
