I Became The Family Scapegoat

In a neighbourhood where every parking ticket and broken elevator is blamed on one child, a boy is known as the worst terror in the building. His parents, Jack Bennet and Susan Bennet, are the ones who taught him to claim parking spots, drown a neighbour's pet duck and cancel elevator floors for fun. When they want a table at a crowded restaurant, they send him in to scream, spit in a customer's soup and flip the table so the other diners leave. His twin sister, Maggie Bennet, mocks him for being a coward, and every time he obeys, he is the one beaten and hated.

Outside the restaurant, a scar-faced man offers him new parents who will love him. The boy takes his hand, but the man drags him into a dark alley and tries to shove him into a sack. The boy fights, but the man covers his mouth and nose until his strength fades. He dies in the alley, and his soul drifts back to his family, who walk out with Maggie, wondering where he has run off to.
