Pretending Foolery in Wealth

When her billionaire father dies suddenly, sixteen-year-old Sandy is left at the mercy of her stepmother Evelyn and stepsister Rose, who move into the master suite and treat her as excess baggage. Terrified they will steal her inheritance, Sandy hides behind the mask of a brainless, spoiled princess who cannot tell a contract's front from its back, letting them believe she is a gullible idiot.

Evelyn and Rose scheme to have her sign away her shares and inheritance, but Sandy clings, sobs and plays the helpless child, refusing to sign what she cannot read. When Evelyn tries to terrorize her out of the attic with cheap scares, Sandy turns the performance back on her, screaming for help until the whole household witnesses the madam ignoring a terrified child.

Behind the tears and the stuffed bear, Sandy is quietly counting every move her stepmother makes, vowing that from now on her tears must buy her something valuable.
