After an Avalanche, We Divorced

After Mike abandons her on the ski slopes to chase his old flame, Lynn is caught in an avalanche and survives two days in the snow. When she finally reaches him by phone, he dismisses her as spam and hangs up. Rescued and hospitalized, she learns she is pregnant — then discovers Mike has blocked her. At the hospital she finds him tenderly tending Jessa Williams, the childhood friend he always claimed was like a sister.

Pocketing her pregnancy report, Lynn resolves that her child will have nothing to do with Mike. But he corners her in a stairwell and demands she test an unproven drug for Jessa's condition, offering marriage and the family she once longed for as payment. When Jessa appears, Mike scolds Lynn for her coldness.

Newly pregnant and warned the drug could cause bleeding, Lynn refuses to be anyone's stand-in again — and looks for a way out before they can force her hand.
