Story
The story
A man on his way to Liechtenstein to close a ten-billion-dollar deal with a royal family finds his private jet grounded on the tarmac. A young man in a designer suit storms aboard, insisting the Gulfstream G700 is his, a gift from his girlfriend, and orders the crew off. His friends mock him until the hangar manager recalls an ownership transfer, then fawn over him.
The confrontation escalates. The young man shoves the owner and recites the jet's tail number and its exact final price, details only the owner, his financial team, and Gulfstream should know. The crew, fearing for their licenses, waver, and the hangar manager threatens the owner with a federal offense claim.
With the official ownership file being pulled and the deal at risk, the owner must prove the aircraft is his before the imposter's charade costs him everything.
Opening excerpt
A man in a sharp, too-tight suit stormed up the stairs, his voice echoing in the cabin.
“Who the hell gave you permission to touch my jet? Do you have any idea what this thing costs? It’s worth more than your damn lives.”
I figured he had the wrong hangar. A simple mistake. "Easy, kid," I told him, keeping my voice level. "Take a look around. This is Hangar 25. This jet is mine."
My explanation only seemed to fuel his rage.
"My jet is in Hangar 25," he shot back, his voice cracking with indignation.
