Story
The story
Harper is a little obsessed with her older sister, Paige, and desperate enough to help her win the man she has pined after for years. The plan is reckless: kidnap the city's most untouchable billionaire, drag him to a secluded suite, and dose him with an illegal compliance serum bought from a shady contact. But Harper grabs the wrong man. The captive is not Ronan O'Connor, the crush Paige cannot stop talking about, but Roman Scott, a venture capitalist with an iron will.
When the double dose hits Roman, he does not become pliable. He becomes predatory, and Harper, the would-be captor, finds the tables turned. Trapped in the suite with a man who refuses the antidote pill in her purse, she must survive his relentless demands while her own guilt and panic mount.
By morning Roman is gone, his contact saved in her phone and his messages waiting. Harper is left to face the wreckage of a plan that went wrong by a single letter.
Opening excerpt
To help her secure the man she’d been secretly pining over for years, I did something monumentally stupid. I kidnapped the city’s most untouchable bachelor, dragged him to a secluded suite, and force-fed him a cocktail spiked with a very expensive, very illegal "compliance serum." The plan was simple: present him to my sister, Paige, gift-wrapped and pliable.
Just as I was congratulating myself on a job well done, my brain—fried by adrenaline—decided to dissociate.
