Story

The story

The night before the National Robotics Championship, Leo destroys his own robot and quits, and the internet brands him a fraud. Only Greg Croft, the golden boy of tech, offers hollow praise. In his last life, Greg's entry was a bolt-for-bolt copy of Leo's work, and no attempt to expose the theft saved him: a rebuilt robot exploded, the ICU followed, and Seraphina signed his DNR. Now Leo wakes on the day before the championship, with Matt urging him on and a two-million-dollar prize and Dr. Aris Thorne's mentorship at stake.

Leo works alone on an upgraded machine, certain no one can know the new specifications. Then Greg posts a video showcasing that very upgrade, down to the last line of code. With the organizers finding no wrongdoing and Greg's fans tearing him apart online, Leo must learn how his designs keep being stolen, and why Seraphina, his childhood sweetheart, betrayed him, before the competition destroys him again.
