Story

The story

Six months pregnant, Rosa Reey flies home to be tested as a stem cell donor for Danny Hopkins, her brother Anthony Reey's five-year-old son, who has leukemia. If the match succeeds, she will stay in the hospital until her baby is born so the umbilical cord blood can save the boy.

At the hospital, Anthony's wife, Lara Patkins, mistakes Rosa for a mistress. She drags her into a bathroom, tears her clothes, strikes her belly and threatens the child, deaf to Rosa's pleas that they are family. Anthony searches for Rosa outside the door, but the women hold her silent until his footsteps fade.

With Lara's rage fixed on the baby, Rosa must protect the life she carries, the only hope for Danny.

The moment I got the news, I didn't hesitate, even though I was six months pregnant, ready for the transplant compatibility test.

My brother drove me to the hospital to get the results, but things took an unexpected turn when my sister-in-law mistook me for a mistress. She waited until my brother stepped away, then locked me in the bathroom. Her face twisted with fury as she tore my clothes, stepped on my belly and insulted me.
