37 degrees high temperature, wife locks son in car for two hours only to accompany male assistant

When Alex Thorne's wife Tori locks their son Leo in a sweltering car for two hours, the boy collapses with severe heatstroke and is rushed to the emergency room. Tori had been helping her male assistant, Lucas Miller, choose a new car, and she laughs off the news. Lucas then sends a smug photo flaunting his gift, boasting that his boss favors him even over her own child.

Alex drags Lucas to the company's old boiler house to feel the same scorching heat, while Tori threatens the police and later frees him, billing the hospital to the company. She begs Alex to fund Lucas's surgery, then mortgages company assets to send him the money. Alex freezes her accounts and prepares divorce papers, exposing Lucas's academic fraud.

As Hayes Industries faces ruin and Tori turns violent against Alex's aide Arthur, Lucas appears, pleading for forgiveness. Tori's phone rings like a death knell.
