Story
The story
Chef Harper accepts a private cooking job paying four thousand dollars an hour. Her client is Mia, a young girl who wants a meal that tastes like elevated home cooking, hoping to prove her boyfriend wrong about her kitchen skills. Harper has spent years perfecting gut-friendly recipes for her own boyfriend, Carter, a supposedly ordinary corporate worker with a sensitive stomach.
When the penthouse door opens, the man who walks in is Carter himself — revealed as the CEO of Kensington Holdings, Mia's boyfriend, and the heir to a corporate empire he hid for five years. He pretends not to know Harper, dismissing her as hired help, while Mia happily reveals that Carter's sudden hatred of cilantro was always about her palate, not his stomach.
Humiliated and threatened into silence, Harper flees into the night. A text from Carter waits on her phone, demanding they talk at home — but after five years of lies, she must decide what is left to say.
