Story
The story
On her first day as the new CEO of a branch office, Serena Smith keeps a low profile, hoping to observe quietly. In the elevator, she casually presses a floor button for a male colleague struggling with supply boxes, only for his wife, Jocelyn Brown, to slap her hand away and accuse her of seducing her husband.
Jocelyn drags Serena into the main office, screaming that she is a slut trying to steal her man. Over a hundred employees stop to watch, whispering that Jocelyn runs the place and that Serena picked the wrong person to provoke. When vice president Richard Walker arrives, he lewdly looks her over and orders her fired without any process.
Serena calmly reveals she is the new CEO sent from headquarters, but Richard tears up her transfer document and accuses her of forgery, while Jocelyn rallies the crowd against her. Richard calls headquarters to expose the imposter, unaware of what is about to unfold.
Opening excerpt
In the elevator, I saw a male colleague struggling with an armful of supply boxes and casually pressed the floor button for him.
The female colleague next to me immediately slapped my hand away:
"Why are you touching my husband's hand?"
The male colleague awkwardly tried to calm her: "What's wrong with you? She was just helping!"
