No More IOUs Walking Out on My Blind Fiancé

Anna returns from a business trip to find a new lock on the master bedroom door. Her fiancé, Ethan, has given the room to his college mentee, Serena, and offers Anna another crumpled IOU note. It is the twenty-sixth such note she has collected in an old tin box, each one covering a betrayal: a borrowed designer coat, a first-class seat, savings poured into his failing startup and then loaned away.

When Anna sets the box and her engagement ring on the coffee table and walks out, Ethan insists Serena is only a junior he must care for. At a housewarming party for the penthouse Anna designed, every gift is for Serena, and Ethan shields her behind his back. Anna accepts a long-deferred offer from a European jewelry house and checks into a hotel.

Then, at the bridal salon, she finds Serena wearing her bespoke wedding gown, a priceless antique necklace around her neck. As Serena offers yet another IOU, Anna demands the necklace back, and Ethan lunges for her wrist.
