Story

The story

Olivia has lived this before. Tied to Isabelle on a cliff, she watched Jackson Croft, her fiancé, choose her out of duty and debt, then spend ten cold years punishing her for it. When he died saving her in Antarctica, his last words sent her back to the cliff, to the same impossible choice.

This time, Olivia screams for him to save Isabelle. Jackson carries the other woman away without a backward glance, and Eleanor, the mother who raised her, is furious at the insult to the family. But Olivia is done being the abandoned wife and the joke of New York's elite.

As the rescue unfolds, a figure in a black trench coat watches from the edge of the scene: Ethan Blackwood, head of the powerful Blackwood family. Olivia knows exactly what she wants now, and it is not Jackson Croft.

Opening excerpt

I was on the edge of a cliff, tied to Isabelle, the ghost who had haunted my marriage before it even began.

Jackson, my fiancé, stood a safe distance away, silent for a long time. In the end, he chose me, the girl he’d grown up with.

It was the wrong choice.
