Story

The story

A young woman lives at home with her mother and her younger brother, Leo, who believes the family's money belongs to him alone. When she refuses to buy him a car, he turns the household against her, mocking her clothes and accusing her of being kept by an older man, while their mother takes his side and questions where her daughter's earnings come from.

After finding a foul substance on her toothbrush, she buys a bottle of homemade concentrated capsaicin from a street vendor and coats the bristles, determined to catch whoever has been using her things. That night, screams ring out from the bathroom.

Then, at the front door, she overhears Leo on the phone, boasting about photos he took of her showering, changing clothes and using the bathroom.

Opening excerpt

My electric toothbrush had some unidentified substance stuck to it.

I asked around the house, but no one paid me any mind.

My younger brother rolled his eyes:

"Who would dare use your stuff? You dress like a streetwalker all day, it's disgusting!"

Furious, I secretly coated the bristles with concentrated capsaicin.

That night.

Screams echoed relentlessly from the bathroom.

Just as I was getting ready to brush my teeth.

I saw some unidentified substance stuck to the toothbrush head.
