Story
The story
After a miscarriage, Lindsay finds new ways each day to torment Sebastian, her husband of ten years. When he calmly explains that Jane, his mistress, also lost a child yet returned at once to cooking, laundry and charming his business partners, Lindsay sees how pathetic she has become among the corporate wives.
Sebastian insists his affair is no betrayal: he took in a pitiful girl like a stray cat, and Jane is quiet, loyal and no threat to Lindsay's position. He warns that any other mistress would be worse. Lindsay slaps him; he kisses her and says he still loves her, comparing her to spice and Jane to sweetness.
Tracking his phone, Lindsay watches Jane down a glass of whiskey meant for him and dance for his clients, and remembers how Sebastian once threw away a deal rather than let her debase herself.
