Story

The story

Thomas Green has spent years loving his wife, Yvonne Scott, ever since he took a knife to the lung for her during a college internship. The wound never healed right, leaving him breathless and weak, but Yvonne's gratitude faded fast. When he falls ill and struggles to breathe, she calls him dramatic and leaves on a trip with her childhood friend, Wade Lawson. Back home, he finds Wade's underwear in her suitcase, and her excuses ring hollow.

A watch he gave her turns up on Wade's wrist, and Yvonne's fury at being questioned ends with her demanding a divorce. Thomas agrees, but it is not surrender. He has already circled a date on the calendar: a humanitarian mission to Avrika. As he prepares to leave, Yvonne's calls go unanswered, and she is last seen leaning on Wade, barely standing.

When I fell ill and struggled to breathe, she said I was dramatic and went on a business trip with her childhood friend.
