Twice Was She Forsaken

Princess Vionna of Aurenza froze to death in a blizzard at Stormrest, curled around her unborn child, forsaken by Theron Thornefell, the Warden of the North she once loved. She awakens reborn on the very day Theron is drugged, with one goal: to bring him together with Marzella Morwynne, his deputy commander and childhood crush.

She flees his tent and summons Marzella, who takes her place. The guards mock Viona Vale, the name she hides behind, as the sounds of the night carry. By dawn she rides to an apothecary and collapses into the arms of Elsha Grey, the Shadowguard who raised her, begging word be sent to her father, King Aldric: she wants to go home.

Yet returning to Crownspire means settling her duties in camp first. When she lifts her tent flap, she walks into Theron, bearing fresh marks of the night.
