Story

The story

In her past life, Chloe's ex-boyfriend's best friend Lilly joined her in paying respects at her parents' graves, and from that day Chloe's luck curdled: Lilly won a top tech job and a multi-million dollar lottery while Chloe sickened and died. As a ghost, Chloe heard Lilly boast that she had switched fates with her, and Jason had only courted Chloe for her birth chart. Then Chloe woke on the very day Lilly suggested visiting the graves.

This time Chloe has already moved her parents' remains home and filled the old plot with a stray dog's ashes and manure. She lets Lilly burn her blood-marked paper, keeps her health, and takes a classified defense job in another state, refusing to be drawn back when Jason and Lilly are hurt in a car accident.

Chloe ends the relationship and blocks them both, while Lilly's bad fortune has only begun.

Opening excerpt

Not only that, but I also poured manure all over the grave site.

I did this because in my past life, my ex-boyfriend’s childhood best friend said she wanted to join him in paying respects to my parents.

But ever since that day, my luck had been cursed.

Meanwhile, his best friend’s life soared—she snagged a job offer from a top tech company and even won a multi-million dollar lottery.

Before long, I fell ill and died.
