Story
The story
For three years, Natalie has lived as the substitute wife of billionaire Ethan Cross, a stand-in for the woman he could never let go of. She survives on eighty dollars a month while living in a ten-million-dollar penthouse, budgeting for cheap bread and clearance milk. Then she discovers she is pregnant, and the cost of prenatal care pushes her to ask her husband for help.
But Bianca, Ethan's executive secretary, controls her allowance and dismisses her pregnancy as a lie. When Natalie tries to sell a birthday gift to cover medical bills, the story explodes online and Ethan accuses her of faking an ultrasound for money. Everything of value is stripped from the penthouse, and her funds are seized.
With a baby on the way and nothing left, Natalie must decide whether to keep fighting for a marriage built on another woman's shadow.
