My Wife Chose Her First Love, So I Chose My Country

A month before Theo and Martha are meant to return to China, Martha secretly changes their immigration application so they will go to the UK instead, where Noah Mason is waiting. Georgina Fisher warns her that Theo has his heart set on going home, but Martha is certain he will follow her, just as he gave up Cambridge once before. Theo overhears everything, says nothing, and quietly walks away.

Martha calls Noah from the balcony and murmurs his name in her sleep, while Theo gathers his own paperwork and goes to the consulate alone. There an elderly visa officer, thirty years at her window, stamps his page and welcomes him home. Martha, meanwhile, brings him a sculpture of Cambridge and shares overseas apartment listings, waiting for him to ask where she is going.

If she is choosing to chase love, he will choose to keep chasing his dream.
