Story
The story
Less than a month after her wedding, Claire Bennett's husband Ethan Carter was diagnosed with acute leukemia. To save him, she endured eight IVF cycles and three miscarriages before finally conceiving. At eight months pregnant, she discovers a recent medical report showing Ethan is perfectly healthy.
At his office she overhears the truth: Ethan faked his illness so Claire would undergo IVF, swapped her eggs so she carries his child with Vanessa Bennett, and intends to use the baby's umbilical cord blood to save Vanessa. Her own parents are complicit, caring only about the cord blood. Claire schedules an abortion, but Ethan and her parents force her to drink drugged milk to drag her to the hospital for a cesarean section.
As the drug takes hold, Claire fights to stay conscious, determined to defy them.
