Story

The story

Ethan lost his voice in an accident and withdrew into silence, but Maya refused to let him disappear. She fought the boys who bullied him, claimed him as her desk partner, and spoke for him when he would not speak for himself, certain that their bond was mutual. Then Chloe transfers in, and everything Maya believed begins to crack.

Chloe reads Ethan's signs and insists Maya ignores what he truly wants. When Maya finds a crumpled note addressed to Chloe, she recognises Ethan's practiced calligraphy and is forced to question whether she has been his protector or simply the one who never let him choose.

Under Chloe's encouraging gaze, Ethan signs that he needs space, leaving Maya to wonder if she was ever the hero of his story at all.
