Story

The story

For three hundred years the Blood Prince has taken a new bride every fifty years, and none of the first six survived. In the Luproma Pack, the Alpha Lucian is struck by a mate-hunger hex and must claim his fated mate before the moon sets. In her last life, the witch Elise gave her purity and forged a blood bond to save him, but Lucian's heart belonged to Seraphina, an omega. After Seraphina died at the altar, Lucian left Elise to his war wolves in the frozen tundra.

Now Elise wakes on the night the curse strikes. She drags Seraphina from her bed and pushes her into Lucian's chamber, offering to take Seraphina's place as the Blood Prince's bride. Seraphina refuses to believe her, thrusting her Imperial summons into Elise's hands and demanding Elise stand guard and brew the bonding bath so the pack sees who Lucian truly chose.

Elise obeys, and when Lucian steps out with the mate bond sealed, he orders her from his sight. Then he demands her summons. She holds the letter Seraphina gave her, and knows it will change nothing.

Opening excerpt

In my previous life, Seraphina was chosen,Lucian’s childhood sweetheart.

The night before our bonding ceremony, she burst into our chamber, tears streaming.

“Lucian, I’ve been chosen as the Blood Prince’s seventh bride!” she sobbed.

“They say he loses control on his wedding night, drains every drop of blood from his bride. None of the first six lived to see dawn.

I don’t want to die—please, claim me as your mate!”

But Lucian had already claimed me.

And by wolf law, an Alpha may bind only one mate at a time.

So I step forward, and refused her.
