Story

The story

Marylin Graham paid three hundred million to save the Calderon Family, and the price was a wedding to Darrick Calderon. At the reception, Darrick gets an urgent call: Myra Shields, his former love, has swallowed a bottle of sleeping pills. He moves to leave, but Marylin reminds him of the consequences, and the guests turn on him. His parents slap and shame him into staying.

Darrick accuses Marylin of buying his obedience, of getting him drunk and pregnant to trap him. She lets him go, mockingly offering a motorcade. Myra's final message arrives, and he rushes out into the rain, telling his brother that Marylin carries his child and will wait.

But Marylin has already lived this wedding once, and this time she will not stop him.

Opening excerpt

Two months into my pregnancy, Calderon Family finally agreed to give me a wedding.

At the reception, Darrick received an urgent call from the hospital—his former love had overdosed on sleeping pills after a failed investment.

He rushed to leave, but I stopped him by saying, "I have invested three hundred million to have you, Darrick.”
