She Traded Away Her Own Secret Crush

Silas Archer has been dating a girl online for nearly four months. She is the cool, composed one, and next week they are finally supposed to meet. Then a campus post pulls him in: Madison Hale, the university's reigning queen bee, is melting down because the online boyfriend she is meant to meet next week turned out to be nothing like his photos. The top comment suggests she simply gift the account and the man to someone she hates, and Madison gleefully hands both to a cousin she cannot stand.

Meanwhile, Silas's girlfriend goes quiet all night in the lab, then floods him with unusually sweet messages, a warm voice clip, and drinks delivered for him and his roommates. When Madison corners him and invites him to a retreat, he refuses, saying he is meeting his girlfriend next weekend. Madison freezes at the news that he has a girlfriend at all.

Back in his dorm, Silas thanks his girl for the treat. Her reply fixates on one word, and then a shower of money transfers begins, leaving him stunned and asking why she would send so much.
