Story

The story

In a previous life, Jamie Lachman was the surgeon the medical world called Godhand, until his family forced him to take the blame for a malpractice case involving the fake heir Matthew Lachman. His license was revoked, his fiancée Winona Green cut the nerves in his right hand, and he died in a prison cell. Now he has woken on the day he was meant to be jailed, and he chooses to live.

He saves lives behind bars, earns an early release, and hides as a crippled mechanic in a tiny repair shop. Then the Lachmans find him: his mother Heather Solden begs him to operate on Matthew, and Winona offers marriage and his old place as heir. Jamie lifts his ruined, trembling hand and refuses.

When Winona turns her followers against him, Jamie stays calm. He has spent years training his left hand and building connections, waiting for the imposter to fall.

Opening excerpt

Before I was set to go to jail, my fiancee, Winona Green, personally severed my tendon in my dominant wrist just so she could force me to sign the papers.

Since then, I was tormented and bullied relentlessly in jail. In the end, I died in my cold and dark cell out of depression.
