The Half Of My Body I Sacrificed To Make You Queen

On the tenth anniversary of his marriage to Serena Shaw, Ashton Reed is shown a video that shatters everything. When he demands an explanation, Seri offers none, calling him underwhelming and admitting she craves the vitality of younger men. She slides a signed divorce agreement across the table, offering a clean break or a hollow arrangement to keep up appearances for the shareholders of Shaw Global.

Ashton refuses to sign. He reminds her of the twenty-two years they shared, but she walks out without remorse. By dawn, news of her new flame, a college boy named Devin, floods every entertainment site, and her old promises of forever are replayed as a cruel joke.

Summoned to a private lounge, Ashton finds Seri in Devin's arms. A bet demands he finish a bottle of liquor. He drinks it, though half his stomach was sacrificed for her deals, and collapses before he can speak. He wakes in the hospital alone, with no family member at his bedside.
