Story
The story
After giving birth to a daughter, Jane Carter's husband abused her verbally and physically, leaving her in tears. Just when she is most desperate, she is transported to a reversed world — a matriarchal society where men keep house and raise children while women work outside. Her special gift lets her bring one person along, and she chooses her husband.
In this world, her mother slaps and scolds him as a useless man who cannot bear children, and the neighbor Mrs. Johnson approves. When he tries to fight back, he finds women are far stronger than men here, and he is easily overpowered. Jane slaps him five times, savoring the revenge for the beatings he once gave her.
Then he starts vomiting, and her mother asks whether he is pregnant. At the hospital, the doctor confirms it. Jane drags him home, refusing to send him back, while he threatens to kill her and the baby.
