After I Died, My Father Knelt in Front of My Grave to Apologize

Winnie is a young woman who has never known her father's love. Her father, Mr. Jones, blames her for the death of her mother, Tina, and showers all his affection on her elder sister, Yuki. When Winnie is attacked and calls her father for help, he hangs up, angry that she is interrupting Yuki's birthday celebration. She is murdered, her body dismembered and dumped beside a trash can.

As a forensic pathologist, Mr. Jones is called to examine the corpse. Piece by piece, he reassembles the body of a girl he does not recognize, even though a birthmark on her thigh is identical to his own daughter's. He tells the police captain, Mr. Smith, that the victim is unknown, and continues to dote on Yuki while never once wondering where Winnie is.

Winnie's spirit watches her father work, unseen and unheard. He still wishes she had never been born, and she can only ask whether her death has finally made him happy.
