Story
The story
Dr. Jack Carter works the night shift in a busy emergency room, where he believes he has seen every strange case imaginable. Then one night the nurse wheels in a patient who turns out to be his own wife, Olivia, unconscious and pale. Examining her, he discovers the injury that caused her to faint, and the realization leaves him frozen with jealousy and betrayal.
Married two years, they had never shared anything like this, so Jack is certain the injury came from another man. He performs the surgery, then storms out, refusing Olivia's pleas that it is all a misunderstanding. At home he drinks himself unconscious until his best friend Ryan arrives, sent by Olivia, and urges him to consider a lawyer and the cost of divorce.
Determined to find proof of her infidelity so she leaves with nothing, Jack waits. When Olivia is discharged, she comes to the emergency room and steps toward him.
