After the Betrayal, My Heart Sank into Despair!

Frank Sharp has spent four years loving Della Gerta, and their wedding is only half a month away. Then, at what she calls her bachelorette party, he watches her walk down the aisle in the wedding dress they chose together — to marry Paul Willis, her first love, before a crowd of their mutual friends. The invitation hides a line about a promise to that first love, and the big screen plays their love story while the guests stare at Frank.

Frank offers his congratulations, leaves a generous gift, and calls off the engagement. At home he tears off the moon-shaped pendant she once told him never to lose. Della returns with Paul, treats the whole thing as a harmless way to avoid regrets, and refuses to accept that anything is wrong.

Now Frank must decide what to do with a woman who believes she can keep both her promise to Paul and her wedding to him.
