Story
The story
During the Double Eleven shopping festival, Lora streams live for eighteen hours a day and sells every mango in Leverant Village, taking no commission. When the last broadcast ends, the village chief and a dozen villagers bring her a payment QR code and demand she pay for the mangoes she tasted on camera. Her uncle, Jackson Lufren, insists she owes thousands, while the villagers pile on old favors and guilt, even as her assistant Yovie points out the deals Lora turned down and the debts she already repaid with interest.
Lora answers with the truth about her childhood meals and the loan her father mortgaged their house to secure. The village chief's daughter, Olive Brown, pushes through the crowd, arguing that Lora promised to help for free and cannot go back on her word. The young people behind her nod in agreement, and the villagers close ranks.
Two months later, when the second batch of mangoes ripens, the village chief comes to Lora again. This time she hands him a contract: thirty million fans, a seventy-thousand-dollar commission, payment first.
