The Price of a Signature

When a weeping widower named Julian arrives at their door, begging Sarah to co-sign a $50,000 loan for his critically ill child, Arthur knows the true principal is far larger. In his previous life, he locked Sarah inside to stop her; the widower jumped from a hospital roof with his child, and Sarah and their daughter Mia never forgave him. He died alone and ill, buried beside the widower as punishment.

Now Arthur has awakened on the very day Julian comes knocking. Sarah vows to co-sign, Mia pleads and glares at him like a monster, and Julian weeps. Arthur stays calm, texts his attorney, and sets a camera to record.

He lays out their finances, their debts, and Mia's heart condition, then makes his terms: sign the divorce papers first, and he will not stop her. Sarah calls it a threat, and the room falls silent.
