Story
The story
Cole Bennett is hired at Kensington Holdings and mistaken for Sean, the family's vanished heir, because he shares the heir's bone structure and eye color. The Kensingtons refuse to believe his name, offering him a black card that reloads with three hundred thousand dollars every month to stay and keep quiet. He accepts, living as a ghost in the estate while Tristan, the adopted golden son, repeatedly frames him for his own staged injuries.
At a lavish proposal ceremony, Betty Montgomery bypasses Cole and kneels before Tristan instead, humiliating him in front of hundreds of elite guests. Tristan smirks in triumph, but Cole feels only relief, seeing a chance to finally resign from the role he never wanted.
When Cole announces he is leaving, Tristan forces the ring into his hand and lets it fall, then weeps as if attacked. Betty shoves Cole back, and the crowd turns on him. Cole finally shouts his real name and demands a DNA test, and for the first time, doubt flickers across Betty's face.
