Story
The story
Everard Gilbert is about to clock in at his new job when Jordan Lambert, the supervisor who once framed him for stealing company R&D and got him blacklisted across the industry, calls in a panic: don't clock in, or he will die. Everard clocks in anyway, and moments later Lambert is dead, blown apart at the entrance of Zenith Tech.
Former coworkers whisper that Everard is the killer, and Chad Acevedo, the man whose false testimony once cost him his job, tells the police to arrest him. Then Chad dies too, his own head split open by a blade. Lambert's last words echo in Everard's ears as the deaths pile up around him.
Why did Lambert call him before dying, and why does every clock-in seem to end in blood?
Opening excerpt
I was about to be late for work when the supervisor who'd framed me for stealing my old company's R&D suddenly called:
"Everard Gilbert, where are you? Are you at the office?"
"Don't clock in. You hear me? You can't clock in!"
I froze. "Why."
He was shaking all over, terror written across his face.
"Because... the second you clock in, I'm going to die."
