Story

The story

On Valentine's Day, Valeria is diagnosed with breast cancer. When she calls her husband Karsten, he claims he is boarding a plane. Instead, she finds him at her late parents' villa, entangled with his ex-girlfriend Theresa before her parents' portraits. Devastated, she returns to the city and hides what she saw.

Karsten comes home that night with a gift and a question: is she pregnant? Valeria says yes, though she knows their agreement grants him ten percent of Thalmann Legacy Holdings if they have a child. He offers to handle the company while she rests, and she resolves to reclaim what her father entrusted to her.

At the company, the first person she meets is Theresa.

Opening excerpt

On Valentine's Day, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Overwhelmed by shock and fear, I called my husband, Karsten.

"Kars, I'm on a business trip and about to board the plane. I'll bring you a gift when I get back. Love you."

Before I could finish, the busy tone on the phone left me with a wave of disappointment.

I returned to the villa where my parents had lived, wanting to cry my heart out in front of their portraits.

As soon as I stepped into the living room, I heard a woman's moans coming from my parents' bedroom.
