Story

The story

On the day Diana Erickson is promoted, her mother, Rhonda Lynch, kneels and begs her for a monthly allowance of 500 dollars. Diana refuses without hesitation. Left with no choice, Rhonda turns to an influencer to put her on blast, and the internet erupts. When a furious mob vandalizes Diana's home, she hands the culprit, Alan Cooley, an ultimatum: pay the 60 thousand dollars in damages, or uncover why her mother won't simply take her to court.

At work, her boss, Mr. Cliff Murray, and her colleagues pressure her to give in, while the influencer Christy Burch follows her, filming every luxury purchase. Diana keeps her cool, vowing to settle the matter within a week, but the question lingers: what is her mother really after?

The day I'm promoted, my mother gets on her knees and begs me for a monthly allowance of 500 dollars to cover her living expenses. Yet I refuse without any hesitation.

Left with no choice, she gets an influencer to put me on blast.

"I only need 500 dollars a month. 50 packs of plain pasta can last me two months, and I can grow some vegetables to save on groceries.

"I'll even split my high blood pressure pills in half to make them last. Please. I raised you. You can't just abandon me now that I'm old!"
